Have Effective Solar Panel Mounts For Your System
In putting up your own solar power system, using solar power mounts is an integral part. These mounts affect the effectiveness of the system. So as to generate a fair amount of energy in the house, they must be properly situated because the system must be able to absorb as much sunlight as possible. The mounts must be effective, reliable, and strong.
Composition of solar power mounts
Aluminum, stainless steel, iron, and wood are the most common materials used for solar power mounts. Mounting benefits equally well from all these materials. You only have to choose one which suits your budget and location best. Aluminum is lightweight and can be easily molded and welded but it can be expensive. Stainless steel is the sturdiest and strongest among the four, so it can toughen out against weather condition but it is the most expensive. Even if it is very much prone to corrosion, especially during the rainy months, angle iron is definitely cheaper and workable. Wood is the cheapest and the most common material. However, it is not as sturdy as the others.
Types
The solar panel mounts can come in different shapes and sizes. Some function well on their own, while others need poles for support. There are also different types of mounts: flush, roof-ground and solar. Flush mounts are perhaps the easiest to use and the cheapest, too.It weighs relatively light and has low wind resistant qualities. Panels that are small in size work best with this type. However, flush types mounts may only be used for some types of rooftops. The also lack flexibility.
Roof-ground mounts, as the name implies, may be used on the roof or on the ground. The panels may be rotated and the angle may be changed when these mounts are used. Because of this, you are sure to get the most amount of solar energy during daytime. They are reasonable priced and can work with all sizes of panels. But, they may require heavy and durable fastening, especially in places where the winds blow the hardest.
Pole mounts have three types: top, side, and poll tracking mounts. Among all the types, this one allows for easy wiring and access. Also, to prevent any kind obstruction, the height is adjustable. However, construction of pole mounts can be high-priced. Homeowners need to dig a hole in order for this type of mounting to be secured.
Factors to be considered to mount solar panels
You need to find a good location before you install your solar panels. Face the panels where they will get the most sunlight possible so place them on the south if you are living on the north. You also have to consider your surroundings. Make sure that you place the mounts in an area where it is unobstructed by the sun and where the panels are directly hit by the sunlight.
Other factors, such as house orientation, roofing material, weather patterns, shading, and site load bearing capacity, must also be considered.
Ensure that you have considered all the factors, information and types before you even try to power your home using solar energy. The solar panel mounts are important to the system, so they need to be placed strategically.
