$150 CNC mill is a tad slow but very solid (Hackaday)
Like just about everyone else out there, [Adam] thinks that CNC machines are
pretty cool - so cool that he decided to build one of his own from scratch.
The CNC machine was constructed mostly out of MDF and scrap wood, with drawer
slides used for smooth gantry movement. An off-brand rotary tool was used

Begin A Welding Business - Buying Used Welding Equipment
One of the things that appears to confuse welders who wish to begin a welding business is the purchase of welding equipment. There are so many options available that it is tough to know where to begin. And also you should not make any mistakes here simply because unlike purchasing a auto or a new set of golf clubs, this decision can really make the distinction between being successful or failing. For example: In the event you acquire new or used welding equipment? What brand name is the best? Miller, Lincoln, Esab, Hobart? In the event you get a multi approach machine such as the Miller Shopmaster that is capable of Tig, Mig, Flux core, and stick welding? Or in the event you purchase a separate machine for every approach? Oxyfuel cutting outfit or plasma cutter? Air compressor or electric grinders? The thing is what I mean?
This short article about beginning a welding business is strictly opinion but it is based on solid encounter. It is only simply because I've got a welding company which i really feel capable of weigh in on how to begin a welding company.
Here is what I'd do in a serious nutshell:
Stay away from multi approach machines such as the Miller Shopmaster if you don't get a smoking good deal on one and intend to apply it just one approach. Why? You just need a lot of time to swap processes and the hoses, torches, and cables are downright unmanageable.
For your major Tig welding machine, attempt to locate a Miller syncrowave 250 on eBay or Craigslist. If you're patient, you'll find one with the accessories for 2000 bones or much less. A good deal.
For a Mig welding machine, again shop eBay or Craigslist for any Millermatic 252 or Millermatic 180.
Somewhere around 1000 bucks is a great deal. Anything much less is a steal.
If you're cramped for space, a foldable welding table or two may be the ticket. They're strong and you can hang them about the wall to get them taken care of.
You will get by with electric grinders in the beginning and that i would definitely get a handful of straight grinders and 4 1/2 inch angle grinders with a good range of consumables.
For those who have a shop and not just the garage in your home, I would recommend an oxyfuel cutting, welding, and heating kit. Very helpful. Owners size cylinders are roughly 175 every single and the torch kit together with cart may possibly cost yet another 300. That's an overall total of 650 dollars. But you need it.
Actually, you really need to have a spare cylinder for all your processes. Welding gas cylinders are available in essentially two kinds: leased cylinders what are full sized cylinders utilized in industry, and owners cylinders. Owners cylinders are often about 125 cubic feet or roughly half the capability from the large ones. I suggest obtaining two owners cylinders for everything. Why? Since not having enough argon on Saturday evening when the job is due out Monday morning is not bad for company. Having an added owners bottle will not supplement your monthly expenditures and buys you time in having your major cylinder refilled.
