Why Smoking During Pregnancy Is Dangerous For Your Baby
There are many health problems that put your baby at great risk if you are a smoker. Actually, there are problems right down the line including adverse risks during birth and beyond. It's unfortunate to realize that even though you should quit upon discovering pregnancy many will not. It's important for both you and your baby to quit the benefits are worth it. We suggest you get as much support as possible to help you quit smoking. Here we will discuss with you some of the biggest risks and dangers caused by smoking during pregnancy.
When a woman smokes while she is carrying her baby, all systems are essentially under attack from hundreds of known chemicals added to cigarettes. The baby's immune system is compromised, and the effect of that is the general tendency to be sick more often with colds and other infections. The respiratory system also suffers from complications that have been positively correlated to smoking during pregnancy. Children of mothers who smoked while pregnant can also have problems with normal growth. Smoking during pregnancy can lead to your child's lung functions being seriously compromised. The child is being placed at a much higher risk of developing lung related issues such as asthma and a greater tendency toward pneumonia. Bronchitis and other chronic respiratory symptoms are also more common. Keep in mind that these problems also involve your child's immune system. Because of this, the child is more susceptible to infection.
A significant number of low birth weight babies are blamed on the mothers addiction to nicotine during pregnancy there are many additional risks too. You may not realize that a good number of mental retardation, learning disabilities and even cerebral palsy have been linked to preterm smoking. Smoking while pregnant has been shown to contribute to the enormous amount of sudden death cases in infants. It's a fact that you cannot avoid the risks of smoking while pregnant and they are potentially severe. It is like the unborn child doesn't even have a chance when the smoke is thrust upon him or her. Your baby will still be affected if you are nursing after pregnancy because the nicotine settles in breast milk too. We hope that you will get the facts on the effects of smoking while pregnancy and make the choice to quit. Ask your doctor for help.

3. Elfquest (ditto) 4. Maakies (people in Seattle kept telling me there was a
crazy guy in New York that drew beautiful comics from the depths of
inebriation) 5. Lost In The Andes (kept running across mentions in interviews
and articles) ***** Art Baxter 1. Mr. Natural (Comix: A History Of Comic Books
In America by Daniels) 2. Mysterious Suspense #1 (Article in a very early TCJ
by Dwight Decker on best & worst comics) 3. Jesse Marsh's Tarzan (The first
Hernandez Bros. interview in TCJ) 4. Screw Style (Manga! Manga! by Frederik
