Buy Canon 60d, I Personally Have Not Had A More Inexpensive Camera That Has Produced Such Awe Inspiring Images
If you are in the market for a great DSLR camera, I would strongly suggest you buy Canon 60d. Why do I say this? In every way it is the best.
You can adjust audio levels manually, which is a big bonus when producing professional recordings.
The image quality is a big reason you should buy Canon 60d. Through my experience the 60d is the right DSLR to get. It is inexpensive, cheaper than the 7d or 5d, but more robust than the t2i, and it has the image quality of the 7d.
The sensor is not full frame, but big enough. It is still the same size as regular 35 mm. Having a big sensor boils down to the benefit of being able to produce beautiful images with a shallow depth of field: a typical look of 35mm film. You can only get this kind of cinematic look with a large sensor.
Since I am a pro photog, I can say with all honesty, that the 60d looks better than cameras that cost ten times as much.
The flip out LCD monitor is the other great thing. The 60d is the only DSLR that can be used on a Steadicam without investing lots of money.
Just flip out the screen and let it fly, the screen swivels dynamically, so shooting at extreme angles is made easy this way. It works great on even the Nano Flycam, just make sure the LCD monitor is flipped out before you balance it. It is not always easy to to balance it, so don't waste time.
Is it difficult to shot a feature length film on the 60d? I don’t think so I am doing it right now, and it has never been easier to shot. Each and every camera set up is easier than when I shoot news.
This is how it goes: so I set up a wide shot. Then I just pick up the camera still on the sticks, and move it in for the medium shot, then the two shot, pick it up again, and get a close up, that's how simple it is. Sometimes I don't even need lights depending on the ISO.
You will need a crew to do this with 35mm film. Shooting on the 60d can be fast and spontaneous, and flexible.
The weight is perfect. Is the 7d and 5d too heavy? Yes and no. For me I prefer the 60d. I can take the 60d anywhere, and shot cinema quality images, in public places without drawing a lot of attention to myself, because I look like a tourist. In a lot of cases its greatest benefit is its size.
The controls are easier to use than the t2i. The controls are like the 7d or 5d, and ripping through menus, or changing the white-balance on the fly is easy and fast.
Every pro newspaper shooter I know uses 60d, they love it, and shot both stills and video on it. I have not had a more versatile and inexpensive camera that has produced such awe inspiring images. You will love it, so buy Canon 60d too if you are serious about DSLRs. If you want to see some cool stuff I shot on the 60d drop over to my Canon 60d review.

Car-B-Q: X-Series Grill by Porsche Design Studio (Autoblog)
Porsche owners have long reveled in their ability to smoke the competition on
track and street, but now Porschephiles can also leave their marque's mark on
the backside of burgers, hotdogs and ribeyes. Grill marks, of course.
Barbeques Galore and Porsche Design Studio have burned the midnight oil for
two years while working on the the new X-Series Grill. Under its sleek,
German-styled exterior lies some fairly hot grilling technology. Instead of
the standard gas burners found in most grills, the X-Series uses four infrared
burners that can crank out 52,000 BTUs using 50% less fuel with 80% fewer
flare-ups. By our very rough shadetree estimates, that should be good for a
zero to steak time of about 10 minutes. Or so.
With a starting sticker price of $5,999 Porsche Design's first grill comes
with a motorized rotisserie, an LCD temp display with remote probe, and an
insulated double-walled hood. Step up to the X-Series Island (above) for
$8,499 for a stainless steel finish and concealed cupboards and gas cylinder
storage.
All models are covered under a lifetime warranty for service, parts and
repair. Also included is the right to brag to ...
