Vacuum Pumps For Auto Air-Conditioning And Maintenance
A vacuum pump is particularly an important device for automotive operation and function. Essentially, it works in the vehicles’ air-conditioning unit as well as in the engine maintenance. The primary function of a vacuum pump in vehicles is by getting rid of the humid air and moisture from the auto air-con units.
The moisture can cause damage to your automobile’s air-conditioning unit. It will go into the refrigerant line as thin water and time comes that it will form into crystal deposits as it builds up. This hinders the normal circulation of air from your car's air-con unit. When refrigerants blend with moisture, the air-condition unit will rust.
In fact, the damage gradually takes place that you'll recognise it until it’s far too late. A vacuum pump works by removing the moisture by simply working with a vacuum inside the air-con unit. A low pressure is going to steam off the moisture at an extremely low temperature which subsequently vaporises the liquid and lets it all out all over the unit.
Quality and Vacuum Performance
Another problem is determining what's the ideal size and type of a vacuum pump to work with. There are 2 kinds of pumps which you'll need to consider. The least expensive is the so called Venturi Type Vacuum Pump. This kind of pump operates from the shop air compressor. They are highly favoured by most home mechanic consumers considering that they are inexpensive and not complicated to operate.
But truth is they have a limited feature. These types of vacuum pump are hard on steaming off moisture. They don't supply sufficient vacuuming power to your air-conditioning unit, as what you required to. The most effective and widely used vacuum pumps that could be obtained in a specialised auto shop are the Electric Vacuum Pump.
Professional air-conditioning consultants and automobile shops has at least one of these items. What design and brand name to purchase or lease is actually your choice. Almost all vacuum pumps available in the market include a CFM Rating which can be seen in its packaging.
Functionality and Maintenance
The greater air the pump takes away, the quicker it'll achieve an efficient vacuum. There's also the single-stage and two-stage pumps. The two-stage pumps are faster and much more effective. However, the single-staged can also get the job done efficiently.
If you want to vacuum a passenger car that is approximately around ten tons, a 1.2 CFM vacuum pump will probably be suitable. But if you’re focusing on an air-con unit of a huge truck or RV, a 4 CFM vacuum type would be the appropriate option.
Having selected the ideal vacuum pump for your automobile, you must also thoroughly take care of the equipment. The main thing is to regularly look into the vacuum pump oil.
You need to replace the oil every after you remove an air-conditioning unit that is already stuffed with moisture or in cases where the air conditioning unit experienced a compressor breakdown and evacuated the unit. Furthermore, if your vacuum pump oil looks muddy or murky, an oil change is recommended.
